Christina Stokes, MSW, LCSW-S
I received my Master's in Social Work from the University of Chicago in 2005. Following graduation, I worked as a crisis counselor in inner-city Chicago, managed a women's health clinic at the University of Illinois Chicago, and served as an individual and group therapist at several psychiatric facilities.
In subsequent years, I worked in hospice care, provided therapy at a high school in Austin, co-founded a children's book publishing company, and more recently served as a clinical supervisor at a women’s residential treatment center in Austin.
Along this path, I discovered that my true passion was collaborating with individuals one-on-one. I enjoy working with adults of all ages and offering a strength-based, client-centered approach tailored to each person's unique needs and goals.
My goal as a therapist is to connect with individuals and understand how their experiences have shaped them psychologically, behaviorally, and interpersonally. I work with clients to create a calm, safe space where we can navigate the human experience together.
I am originally from Columbus, Ohio, but I have lived in France, on both coasts of the United States, and in Austin before making Georgetown my home. I live with my husband of twenty years and our three children down a gravel road near a nature preserve. I love being outdoors, spending quality time with friends and family, exploring new places, and getting to know new people.
