(Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

What is EMDR?: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress. (https://www.emdria.org/)

Initially thought to be useful only for symptoms of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), EMDR Therapy is now a proven, effective, and evidence-based treatment for a variety of symptoms such as phobias and fears, grief, anxiety, panic attacks and disorder, depression, addiction, chronic pain, and more.

EMDR aids the processing of a painful memory, fear, or phobia, and allows the brain to gain a new understanding of the experience. The basic principle is not to re-experience anything, but to reorganize thoughts, feelings, and experiences into adaptive information that no longer has a strong negative charge.

I have completed numerous advanced EMDR trainings and continue to seek regular consultation and education with experts in the field.
